The Star Conquest Extended Timeline:
This account details the history of man's race to the stars and their achievements and disappointments along the way. New extensions will be added as they are chosen from the many volumes of history that exist in our present time.

1969 - Humanity reaches Old Earth's moon.
2022 - Humanity reaches Mars.
2033 - Tiny wormhole opened for .039 seconds in California lab.
2039 - Moon settled permanently. Terraforming begins.
2044 - Exotic matter particles produced.
2047 - Wormhole opened long enough to transport a single atom over several feet.
2054 - Mars settled permanently. Terraforming begins.
2059 - Flight to Alpha Centauri launched.
2069 - Humanity reaches Alpha Centauri.
2071 - Wormhole transports tiny steel ball bearing over five miles.
2075 - First FTL communication system developed.
2084 - Chinese lab discovers a method of inducing temporary paralysis.
2090 - Wormhole transports live mouse.
2094 - Second flight to Alpha Centauri launched.
2096 - Wormhole transports human.
2098 - Wormholes determined to be safe for humans.
2099 - Second arrival at Alpha Centauri. Small objects transported via wormholes to and from Old Earth.
2101 - Chinese lab invents stun gun.
2105 - Middle Eastern terrorists place wormhole in atmosphere above Los Angeles, creating a tornado. Use of wormholes restricted to space.
2117 - Method found of producing large quantities of exotic matter.
2122 - Terraforming of moon complete.
2133 - Prototype ship transported to Jupiter and back using wormhole.
2135 - FTL flights to Alpha Centauri begin.
2138 - Reactionless drive invented, using exotic matter.
2142-2165 - Series of distant star systems settled. New Earth founded.
2165 - Worldwide depression on Old Earth.
2169 - All colonies except Alpha Centauri lose contact with Old Earth.
2183 - Survival of Old Earth colonies becomes definite. Colonies expand.
2186 - Alliance of Extrasolar Unions founded.
2188 - Old Earth recovers from depression. Contact with colonies resumes.
2192 - Artifacts found by AEU explorers. Presumed abandoned.
2194 - War for independence between AEU and Old Earth forces.
2197 - AEU becomes officially independent.
2199 - The Torus discovered by AEU.
2200 - League of Old Earth Democracies formed from United Nations.
2202 - First contact with the Egalitarian Alliance of Sentients. Message received from beings on the Torus. Representatives from the AEU and League sent.
2204 - A small group of humans is accepted into the EAOS and moves to the Torus.
2209-2233 - League settles star systems on opposite side of Sol system from AEU.
2219 - The League Shipyards built.
2236 - Confederation of Fringe Worlds founded by most recent colonies.
2238 - Fringe declares independence from League. War.
2242 - AEU enters the war on the side of the Fringe.
2245 - Fringe becomes independent.
2246 - EAOS bans deadly hand weapons from space. All such weapons suddenly and mysteriously disappear.
2248 - AEU begins to make significant income from space salvage. It begins producing starships for private citizens to increase its revenue.
2252 - Fringe ships begin pirating successful AEU ships.
2254 - AEU forces attack a gathering of Fringe pirates in one of the Fringe's populated star systems. Fringe lodges formal protest.
2260 - The League, following the example of the AEU and Fringe, begins to produce ships for private citizens.
2265 - Increased competition for space salvage. Starships become armed by standard.
2267 - Using unknown technology, the EAOS bans starship weapons in two sectors.
2268 - Human-piloted EAOS starships begin to appear in space.
2272 - League attacks still-underdeveloped Fringe.
2274 - Fringe world Campeche held under seige by League.
2275 - EAOS frees Campeche. League wars against EAOS for two months before cutting losses and signing treaty.
2276 - War between League and Fringe ends.
2278 - AEU attacks weakened League.
2281 - AEU forces gather in Alpha Centauri.
2282 - EAOS forces drive out AEU from Alpha Centauri.
2283 - War between AEU and League ends.
2285 - Fringe reprimanded for secretly promoting pirate factions.
2287 - All-time high reached for number of ships operating at one time in space.
2287-2304 - Interstellar commerce between the four forces continues to expand and evolve.
